Since 2018, he has helped SWD clients navigate the markets’ ups and downs with confidence. A seasoned financial advisor with over 25 years of experience, Mike is especially focused on helping people prepare for unstable markets through diversification and sound investment strategies.

Mike’s passion for investing was ignited by his grandfather, a World War II veteran and cattle farmer, who instilled in him the significance of the investment world. Since starting his career as a stockbroker in 1994, Mike worked in financial consulting, planning and investment management. In 2005, he opened his own insurance agency, where he helped small-business owners with investments and benefits. In 2016, he founded his own Registered Investment Advisory company before joining forces with SWD in 2018. Today, Mike serves as a lead advisor in the Dallas market, serving clients from all corners of the country. He also plays a vital role in managing $2 billion under advisement as part of the investment council.

Mike passed the Series 65 securities exam and holds life, health and annuity insurance licenses. He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he played football, and later Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mike takes great pride in his role as a father to his son, whose accomplishments range from playing football at the University of Virginia (being named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2014) to becoming a police officer and SWAT team member. His other passions include the Cowboys and supporting rescue organizations like Operation Kindness, where he adopted his dog. In his free time, Mike enjoys fishing, traveling and live entertainment.
